  • How much does a DJ service cost?
    DJ service prices vary based on factors like location, event duration, and equipment. On average, expect to pay between $80-$200 per hour for parties, $100-$300 per hour for school or cooperate events, and $400-$1,500 per hour for weddings.
  • What types of events do you cater to?
    We provide DJ services for various events, including parties, weddings, corporate events, school events, birthday parties, etc.
  • Can I choose the music played at my event?
    Absolutely! We work closely with our clients to create a personalized playlist that suits their preferences.
  • Do you provide your own equipment?
    Yes. Depending on your selected package, we bring anything from a set of two speakers and a turn table, all the way up to full audio, wireless microphones, and lighting effects.
  • How early should I book a DJ for my event?
    Depending on the type of gig, it's advisable to book at least 6-12 months in advance, especially for popular dates and seasons.
  • Do I have to pay a deposit?
    In most cases no, however, by booking with C&J DJ Services, the client agrees to the Terms and Conditions. These terms explicitly state that the client assumes responsibility for compensating any damages to equipment incurred during the event.
  • How do you calculate how much a gig will cost?
    The cost of a gig is determined by several factors including the duration of the event, the location, the equipment or services required, and the specific needs and preferences of the client. We consider these variables carefully to provide a fair and tailored price estimate for each event. We strive to ensure customer satisfaction and can adjust pricing to accommodate varying budgets while maintaining the quality of our services.
  • Are there additional charges for travel and accommodation?
    We do not charge any additional fees for travel costs for up to 15 miles away from our warehouse in Davie, FL. Discuss this with your DJ beforehand for more details.
  • What happens if the DJ falls ill on the day of the event?
    At C&J DJ Services, we have multiple professional DJs for emergency situations where a DJ can no longer perform.
  • Can I see reviews or testimonials from previous clients?
    We are currently working on adding testimonials to our website.
  • Is there a limit to the duration of the DJ's performance?
    We offer gig durations of up to 12 hours, with the flexibility to accommodate longer durations in certain situations. Feel free to reach out to us with any inquiries or questions you may have regarding our services.
  • Can I provide my own playlist for the DJ to follow?
    Yes, you can share your playlist preferences with the DJ. However, DJs often read the crowd and adjust the playlist accordingly.
  • Can a DJ provide a sample mix before booking?
    Yes, we offer sample mixes and demo videos. If you are interested, please visit our Demos page (currently unavailable).
  • What happens if there are technical issues during the event?
    Our DJs come prepared with backup equipment. They should be able to resolve technical issues swiftly. In the very rare occasion of a catastrophic failure on our part we provide a full refund for our services. Please check the Terms and Conditions for more details.
  • How early will the DJ arrive to set up for the event?
    Our DJs typically arrive 1-2 hours before the event to set up their equipment and ensure everything is in working order. This time may vary depending on how long we feel necessary to fully set up. Please note that the set up and take down time is factored into the final cost of the gig.
  • Are there additional charges for overtime?
    Yes, if your event goes beyond the agreed-upon timeframe, additional charges for overtime may apply in addition to the hourly rate. Please see the Terms and Conditions for more details.
  • Can a DJ play at both the ceremony and reception for a wedding?
    Yes, we offer packages that include both ceremony and reception music. Discuss your specific needs with the DJ.
  • Do DJs dress in a specific way for events?
    We typically dress professionally, and many can accommodate specific dress code requests for formal events.
  • Can a DJ provide lighting effects for the dance floor?
    Yes, lighting effects are included in some of our DJ packages. Discuss your preferences for lighting with the DJ.
  • Can a DJ help with song selection for specific moments (e.g., first dance)?
    Absolutely, our DJs are experienced in curating music for special moments. Share your preferences, and they'll take care of it.
  • Are there age restrictions for certain music genres?
    It's important to discuss any age restrictions or explicit content concerns with your DJ to ensure a family-friendly event.
  • Can a DJ play requests from guests during the event?
    In most cases, we welcome guest requests and can incorporate them into the playlist if they align with the overall vibe of the event.
  • Can a DJ provide a written contract for services?
    Yes, we always have a written contract, invoice, and any other important documents between our clients outlining the terms of service, including costs, timings, and any special requests.
  • Can you accommodate special requests for international or niche music?
    Discuss your specific music preferences with the DJ, and they can almost always source or include international or niche music.
  • Are there restrictions on the type of venue a DJ can work in?
    In most cases, our DJs can adapt to various venues as long as we feel the venue will not cause damage to our equipment. It's essential to communicate the specifics of the venue to ensure proper setup.
  • Can a DJ provide a backup power source in case of electrical issues?
    For an additionally charge, we can provide a generator to power our equipment. Please note that this can be quite expensive depending on how long the gig is and how much equipment is being uses for the gig. Please talk with your DJ for more information.
  • Can a DJ collaborate with other performers (e.g., dancers, live bands)?
    In most cases we can. Please talk with your DJ for more information.
  • Can a DJ provide a sample contract for review before booking?
    We provide almost all of the documentation for the gig beforehand. If you are no longer interested in our services, you can cancel free of charge as long as it complies with our Terms and Conditions and Cancelation Policy (coming soon).
